FVMQ (Silastic®)
Fluoresilicone combines the good properties of high and low temperature of silicone with limited resistance to fuel and oil. In fact, it is a plastic because of the lack of hydrocarbon compounds. Fluoresilicone is available in all different RAL colours, as well as transparent. The colouring of fluorosilicones does not affect the mechanical properties. The maximum temperature resistance goes up to 230ºC and the material is very plastic, from hard (80 Shore-A) to soft (40 Shore-A). Fluorosilicones offer a much wider range of temperatures under freezing temperatures than Fluorocarbon rubbers. The most important applications of fluorosilicon seals are cooling & freezing systems, arctic conditions, but also in fuel systems at temperatures up to + 177 ° C (+ 350 ° F) and in applications where the dry heat resistance of silicone O-rings is required.Fluorine silicone seals can also be exposed to oil based on petroleum and / or hydrocarbon fuels. In contrast to silicone, fluorosilicones are resistant to silicone oil & grease.
