Bio-diesel blends higher than B20 can cause problems with natural rubber engine or fuel distribution components, such as hoses and seals. Biodiesel will degrade rubber, so any hoses or seals in the fuel system that are made of rubber will be susceptible to damage if not correctly selected in the right material

The European Union Renewable Energy Directive indicates that states need to support and encourage biofuel usage in normal traffic. For the year 2020 the European Union agreed that 20% of energy usage has to originate from renewable energy sources. For the sector traffic & transportation a minimum of 10% transport fuels has to originate from renewable sources.
The European Union will ensure biofuels remain a current item on their agenda from present till 2020 at least.

We joined forces with an independent accredited European laboratory comparing tests on similar but alternative rubber materials. DIN ISO 1817 edition 2008-08 (equivalent: ASTM D471-12) was the test method, which covered the required procedures to evaluate the comparative ability of rubber and rubber-like compositions to withstand the effect of liquids such as biofuel.
The result was two innovative rubber materials with the unique proven key aspect of both materials to have a good resistance against biofuel blends.
Both high quality biofuel rubber materials apply with the REACH and RohS directives. As by themselves and throughout it’s use making long lasting seals out of them, being twice a contribution to the shared aim to preserve our environment.
